Design Principles of Explosion Proof Overhead Crane

  • Explosion-proof level: Motors, control cabinets, junction boxes, etc. must meet the dual certification of Ex d IIC T4 (gas explosion-proof) and Ex tD A21 IP65 T135℃ (dust explosion-proof) to ensure that there is no ignition risk in the flour dust environment.

  • Circuit protection: Adopt intrinsically safe circuit (IS Barrier) to limit the energy to less than 30mJ (lower than the minimum ignition energy of flour dust 50mJ).

  • Spark-free materials: Copper-based alloy or Monel alloy is used for friction pairs such as gears and brake discs, and beryllium copper bolts are used for rail joints;

  • Sealing protection: A labyrinth seal + nitrogen purge system is installed at the junction of the motor and the reduction box to prevent dust infiltration;

  • The motor winding is embedded with a PT100 temperature sensor, and the power is automatically reduced when overheated;

  • The air duct is designed inside the box-shaped main beam, and the explosion-proof fan is used to force heat dissipation to ensure that the surface temperature is ≤90℃.

Installation and Maintenance of Explosion Proof Overhead Cleanroom Crane

  • Partition installation: The bridge and track in the explosion-proof area are cleaned before laying, and ordinary cables can be connected in the non-explosion-proof area; on-site installers must pass explosion-proof training and wear anti-static clothing and dust masks.

  • Check electrical seals, lubrication status and fasteners every month; replace seals and lubricants every six months; and conduct annual explosion-proof safety re-inspection of the entire machine to ensure that all indicators continue to comply with regulations.

  • Develop emergency handling procedures for hoisting operations, including steps such as rapid dust cleaning, equipment power off and personnel evacuation, and conduct regular drills.
